COLD BUSTER SMOOTHIE

COVID IMMUNITY

Welcome back my quarantine friends! Unfourtantley most of us suffer two or three colds a year, and we all have our favorite cold remedies. Now that we are in a pandemic for cover -19 i have wanted to share some of my favorite immunity boosting smoothies. Don’t wait until the force of a full-on cold hits, as soon as any flu-like symptoms appear, chug down one or two of these smoothies.  Rather than wait until I actually catch a cold, I like to make these smoothies regularly to encourage a healthy immune system as a preventative measure.

Orange colored foods have high levels of vitamin C and beta carotene.  This is an orange Vita C pill in a glass.  Delicious! Enjoy!!!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1 cup mango diced
  • 1 carrot diced
  • ½ inch grated ginger root
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric

INSTRUCTIONS

Simply follow ingredients in order. Main liquid should be the added FIRST to any smoothie. It sets the consistency of prettygirlsoothies. Never put yogurt first. The yogurt will stay stuck to the bottom. Its always important to chop all fruits and vegetables before blending your prettygirlsmoothies. I recommend prepping all smoothies in advance (as soon as you get home from the store). TAKES 10-15 MINS MAX

    HEALTHY MILK ALTERNATIVES

Switching up smoothie ingredients is as easy as putting milk in your cereal.

My milk preference is unsweetened vanilla almond or coconut milk.

Here are other gluten-free and vegan milk alternatives you can use:

    • vanilla oak milk or plain oak milk
    • coconut milk
    • flax milk made from flax seeds
